Recently “Waiting For Something To Happen” was recognized by the San Francisco Examiner; one of the most
recognized and trusted newspapers in the California and the Bay Area. The article gives an in-depth look of journalist, Brooke Musterdman’s insight about the comic book.
Excerpt from the article:
Waiting for Something to Happen c. Jason Dube
Waiting For Something to Happen could be the story of my own entrance into the world of employment. Indeed, it could be any girl’s finding her career-niche story. Ko so perfectly depicts the malaise of a bored 20-something, accented by Dube’s pristine illustrations.
The star is a youngish girl who can’t stand her job. She is so entrenched in her boredom that she wishes for a really good depression, if only for something to do.
It brings back memories of overdramatizing small issues in the workplace not only as a way to feel important, but to amuse myself. Way back in the 80s, it was necessary to do this. Charlotte wasn’t as “happening” as it is now.
The interview continues about Norrie Ko’s insight into the unsual and quirky outlook on life and how the charater is identfiable to Brooke Musterdman and other other women around the country.

Scattered Comics’ PANDA DAYS Now On iTunesWe have a saying that we throw around the offices at CosmicBookNews and that is, “Beware of random ninjas!”
This little quip comes from our long time friend, Jason Dube, the owner of Scattered Comics and the artist and writer for the comic book PANDA DAYS.
However, we heard a rumor that PANDA DAYS is now available on iTunes.
We tracked down Dube to get the story.
QUESTION: Jason, so we hear that PANDA DAYS is now leaving the confines of the usual 10.5 inch by 6.5 inch confines and further into the 21st Century.
Is that true?
JASON DUBE: Yeah!
PANDA DAYS #1 Full Color Edition is now available on iTunes to download onto the iPhone, iTouch, iPad and any other Internet/Data phone for only $.99 from the iTunes store.
It was so popular that just this past Free Comic Book Day, we gave away 50 free downloads.
QUESTION: For those of us playing “catch up,” can you tell us the story of PANDA DAYS?
JASON DUBE: This is the story of a girl named Panda who is being tirelessly hunted by ninjas, luckily she has a giant panda bear as her guardian, but the real problem is…she is the only one that can see them.
Like if she is fighting the ninjas, only she can see it.
QUESTION: Hence the phrase, “Beware of random ninjas!”
JASON DUBE: [LAUGHS] Yeah, right!
QUESTION: With all this attention PANDA DAYS is getting this must be exciting for you.
JASON DUBE: Definitely.
In fact, we put together a 12-second video on YouTube that shows the affection there is for PANDA DAYS.
Jason, as always, thanks for talking to us.
JASON DUBE: Thank you. CosmicBookNews.com has been real good to Scattered Comics Studios and we appreciate it.

According to comic book publisher Jason Dube, of Scattered Comics, the California based artist Bryant Bridgewater will be one of the hottest artists in the years to come.
“I had been considering bringing Bryant aboard Scattered Comics Studios for the last year,” said Dube in a phone interview.
Bridgewater’s comic, “Redbella” is being printed by SIPS Publications based in Vancouver, Canada, and Bridgewater spoke with us about and his new found rising fame in the world of comic books.
QUESTION: Cosmic Book News heard that you will be a feautred artist at the Sacramento Comic Book Convention ON THIS DATE, what do you think of this being your first time featured at an event like this?
BRYANT BRIDGEWATER: I am very excited about it!
I believe this will be a greart way to get more exposure for “Redbella” and some of my other work.
I mean what comic book artist who is still in the trenches wouldn’t want that? [LAUGHS].
REDBELLA PAGE 10
QUESTION: How did you get this opportunity?
BRYANT BRIDGEWATER: Well, I had been attending past Sacramento Comic Book Conventions and I became friends with Jason Dube, and he said on numerous occasions he liked my work and asked me if I would want to feature my work at one of the conventions.
[NOTE: In a conversation Dube had with CosmicBookNews, he mentioned Bridgewater's professionalism. "One day, Bryant and I were at an event talking with comic book fans about our art. It was outside and it was incredibly hot, and there was Bryant in a suit and tie, smiling and shaking hands with people," said Dube.]
QUESTION: How long have you been an artist?
BRYANT BRIDGEWATER: I have loved comic books all my life, but I started pursuing them on a professional basis in 2008. That same year, a friend of mine and I decided to put out a graphic novel entitled “Redbella.”
This is a comic about a young Italian girl living in Naples, Italy and she had a rough childhood. It ends up turning her a serial killer, but she only goes after criminals and she chases them down across the world.

QUESTION: If people want a preview of the comic, where can they go?
BRYANT BRIDGEWATER: They can see it at Redbellaonline.com, and I would love to hear from comic book fans out there!
QUESTION: Bryant, thanks so much!
We look forward to seeing what you are doing in the future and wish you much success in your career.
BRYANT BRIDGEWATER: Thank you, this was fun.

For the past 6 years artist, publisher, and owner of Scattered Comics Studios has sponsored the SCCG (Sacramento Comic Creators Group) Comic Book Jam, with this year’s theme being “Paranormal Creations”
The Jam is a annual event at the SCCG meetings, where a theme or topic is voted on and the artists each work on a story according to the theme that year; the comic is then published by the group and sold at conventions and by the SCCG members that participated in the project.
This year’s Jam Comic “Paranormal Creations” will be available at the Sacramento Horror Convention September 25th-26th at the Socttish Rite Center in Sacramento California.
